Hello
I am trying to find something out, as company that builds routers for gaming/speed etc, I am trying to find out why would you set up a router where after every change you make you have to fully reboot the router.
I personally deal with alot of different routers out there (Cisco, Juniper, Linksys, Extreme Networks and many more) and I have yet come across one that will have you reboot the entire router just so you can change DMZ on it.
Example is, when I hit the router remotely and open DMZ to my PC on that router, I have to fully reboot the router in order for it to take effect, at which point whoever currently at my house is using it, will get kicked off the network.
I just find that really really inappropriate.
Any other thoughts? Opinions from others?
Thanx
Mark

The "gamer" series seem to require more reboots than the latest N series, but only by a little. I think it has more to do with what OS D-Link is running.
Unlike Linksys, where there is the ability to flash a user-made firmware, D-Link, AFAIK has no firmware that can be user modified (which is a shame), but they seem to keep things as stable as they can. I just know that the OS D-Link runs probably requires a flush of memory and a full reboot to get everything going step by step to make sure everything is applied correctly.
