Hi is there a newer phpbb addon any where as the current one  really is out of date ? if not  is there a link to how to make an addon i could study?

It all depends on the requirements of the latest version. If they work with PHP v5.2 and MySQL v5.1 - just download and unzip the source code in phpBB directory /mnt/HD/ HD_a2/Nas_Prog/phpBB/phpBB3/
