I have a 2-Wire Model 3600 HGV gateway with att uverse and I have been reading that it isn't bridgeable. Do you guys know of the procedure that will allow me to use the DIR-890L with uverse?

I had the 3600, but it developed issues, and AT&T replaced it with a 3801HGV. The firmware menus look a little different, but the options and information all seem to be laid out the same. Not sure about it not being able to bridge the 3600, though. Maybe they could replace it, if that turns out to be the case?
I had looked into this for some time, too, and finally stumbled onto this site, which was quite helpful to me: http://www.sbbala.com/uverse/index.html
It describes two modes for the AT&T Residential Gateway: bridged, and modem. I went the modem route, as I wanted my D-Link DIR-890L to handle all aspects of my network (firewall, IP assignments, etc.), so the AT&T box truly acts as a modem only.

- What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under the router case.

Internet Service Provider and Modem Configurations
- If the ISP modem has a built in router, it's best to bridge the modem. Having 2 routers on the same line can cause connection problems: Link>Double NAT (http://www.practicallynetworked.com/networking/fixing_double_nat.htm) and How NAT Works (http://computer.howstuffworks.com/nat.htm). Call the ISP and ask to see if the ISP modem can be bridged. To tell if the modem is bridged or not, look at the routers web page, Status/Device Info/Wan Section, if there is a 192.168.0.# address in the WAN IP address field, then the modem is not bridged. If the modem can't be bridged then see if the modem has a DMZ option and input the IP address the router gets from the modem and put that into the modems DMZ. Also check the routers DHCP IP address maybe conflicting with the ISP modems IP address of 192.168.0.1. Check to see if this is the same on the ISP modem, and if modem can't be bridged, change the DIR router to 192.168.1.1 or .0.254.

Yes! Sorry I didn't post earlier! It was very easy. Luckily, I didn't care if the network was the same in thee two areas of the house. All off my devices switch between wireless networks seamlessly so if the front of the house is called dlink and the back is 2wire it matters not.
That being said, all I had to do was plug the thing into the router via the network cable (my house is wired throughout with cat6) and it automatically set itself up. I had to do NOTHING. My iPhone found the new wireless network and I entered the security code and done. Ditto for every other appliance. Ring doorbell, Dell all in one, Amazon Fire Stick, etc. I was done in 10 min.
