Hi everyone !
I have an internet access through a router (192.168.0.254), the DAP-2553 is 192.168.0.50 (and can ping the router).
In "Basic Settings" -> "Wireless" I set up the DAP in "access point" mode (and almost everything else in auto), and I got wifi.
In "Basic Settings" -> "LAN" I defined 192.168.0.254 as "Default Gateway" (and "DNS").
Connected in wifi, I can ping the router but don't have internet access.
I think I misconfigured something ^^
Did I forget something ?
People connected in ethernet (to the routur through a switch) got internet so I don't think the problem comes from the router.
Thanks in advance
PS : sorry for my english it's not my main language ^^

Link>Welcome! (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=48135.0)
- What Hardware version is your DAP? Look at the sticker under the DAP.
- Link>What Firmware (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=47512.0) version is currently loaded? Found on the DAPs web page under status.
- What region are you located?
What Mfr and model is the main host router?
Factory reset the DAP and walk thru the setup wizard to see if it can help you establish the connection and set up the DAP.
Is the DAP directly connected to the main host router or to a switch?
Try inputting ISP DNS instead of 192.168.0.254 for DNS.

Hi
- hardware version is A1
- firmware version is 1.30
- I'm in France (don't tell me this beta forum is only for US users, I know but as I try to write in english I don't accept to be left away ^^)
- DAP is curretly connected to the switch (I tried to connect it directly to the router but it didn't work better)
- I allready tried using my ISP DNS (or 8.8.8.8 ) => same (no) result
where do I get the setup wizard ? I have a CD-rom with old stuff Windows 10 doesn't want to start...

Can you access the DAPs web page and see if there is a set up wizard there?
This forum is for users in the NA region however we do help out international users as well. If we can help fix users problems then we ask that you phone contact your regional D-link support office. ;)

I can acces the DAP web interface but I don't see anything like a setup wizard...
is there anything like a terminal where I can try to ping something on the internet and check if the DAP can access internet itself ?
-
Not sure if the DAP support CLI or not. Could check the user manual to see.
Is there any status information on the DAP showing connections to the main host router?
This should be fairly simple to set up. The IP address should work however you might change it from .50 to .53 or .25 and see.
Subnet Mask and Gateway should be the main host routers IP address, DNS should be either the main host routers IP address or actual DNS or you can use both I think.
Try using Dynamic DHCP for Get IP From instead of static.
What Mfr and model is the main host router?
Check LAN cabling between the DAP and the main host router.

the main router is a zyxel usg110
as I can ping the router from a client connected by wifi I assume the cables are OK ^^
I fear I couldn't find the DAP if I change it to get a DHCP address (so I won't have internet neither access to config ^^)
I'm in enterprise and there's no real address map, so I prefer not changing .50 to any other static IP that should allready be in use (part of the lan is in dhcp, part in static IP)... i know that sucks...
I think we'll have to wait for the person who has a list of clients to come back :s

Good Luck.
