Title: Accessing switch behind a router
Post by: ferronrsmith on January 30, 2016, 10:00:29 PM
My network is as follows

isp internet box --> switch --> router -> device(s)

I want to be able to manage the switch without having to use an ethernet cable and change my IP address and subnet. Is this possible ? Help me please.

I am using a DGS-1210-28, thanks in advance!

The WebUI is only accessible if your PC's IP is of the same subnet as the switch. See page 89 to connect via Telnet.

I am curious why you have a 200$ managed switch if all you have connected to it is a router. Is this for your business? Did you just not include all parts of your network in OP?
