Title: Power Interruption - Set Up Required All Over?
Post by: zippinbye on December 01, 2015, 07:28:51 PM
Brand new user here.  Thanks in advance for any assistance.  I just set my 2330L using a network cable to my Apple AirPort Extreme.  All functions seem good.  Except that my intended mounting location is way too far away from the router to run Cat 5. So unplugged and relocated. Now I can't reconnect to the camera. I've tried twice via a new set up process.  I can't imagine these cameras would not tolerate a power outage.  Surely they don't have to be reconfigured each time power goes away for a short period?  What am I doing wrong?

I recommend setting a static IP address ON the cameras outside of the main host routers default DHCP IP address pool: 192.168.#.23  DHCP (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=58017.0)

Test cameras with uPnP and uPnP Port Forwarding both enabled on ALL cameras: DCS Cloud (L) Series Camera Configuration and Mydlink.com (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=62395.0)

If you initially set up the camera for a wired connection and didn't setup for a wireless connection, then you unplugged it and moved location, you'll need to set up the wireless connection first and ensure the mode is working before moving the camera. Just set up the camera again using the LAN cable and configure the camera for the wireless connection to the main host router. Once that's done, reboot the camera and disconnect the LAN cable. The camera should come to ready and be accessible via it's wifi connection. If all is good, power off then move the camera to it's final location.
