Title: DAP-1360 Interface over WiFi
Post by: klumpF on February 09, 2015, 04:06:07 AM
Hello,
Since installation I'm unable to reach the Web Interface of my DAP-1360 router over WiFi.
Instead I'm getting a DAP-1522 interface... (yes!!) and then get stucked with Username/pwd combination.
Of course, I'm sure I'm connected to my router (not to the neighbor's one).
Over Ethernet, access is normally granted to the interface and it's correct (DAP-1360), and my login/pwd works fine as well
I'm only facing issues with WiFi
To avoid making confusion, the AP function is working well, I connect normally to the router over WiFi and have normal access to the internet without any limitation, it's ONLY the Web Interface and ONLY over WiFi.

I already changed SSID, Web Interface Admin password, tried with different PC"s and keeps getting a DAP-1522 interface that I can't use.
Already reset the device several times, tried several combination for the 1522 home page (Admin/Blank - Admin/Admin - admin/blank - admin/admin - Admin/my password - admin/my password ....)

I'd really appreciate your help here as I'm short if ideas
(maybe this is a technical limitation and Web Interface is not meant to be accessible by wifi, in that case, why I'm I getting another product interface)

Environment details :
DAP-1360
HW F1 - SW 6.05
Region : MEA
Usage : Access Point

Thanks in advance !

What mode is the DAP set up for? Bridge? AP?

Is there a DAP-1522 near by or in use that the 1360 is connected too?

Do a factory reset of the 1360 and use AP mode. Wire LAN connect a PC to the 1360 and set a static IP address on the PC for 1921.68.0.49, then  access the DAPs web page at 192.168.0.50. Do you see the 1360s web page or a 1522?

Hi Furry,
Yes this have already been tested, it's already in AP mode.
And as mentioned above with LAN (Ethernet), I'm getting the 1360 web page.

For the 1522, there is no one else around.
There is no doubt, I'm connecting to the 1360 when I'm trying on WiFi -I know that as I have been changing SSID, and connecting to the one I'm choosing-

So do you have a 1522 in addition to the 1360?

NO... And that's the weird part...
There is no other D-LINK in the whole neighborhood (used inSSIDer to check that)

Let me summarize again:
When connecting by wire the D-LINK 1360 to the PC, I'm getting the correct Web Admin page normally
When connecting over WiFi to the D-LINK 1360 (AP set up), I'm connected to the internet which works fine BUT I'm getting a D-LINK 1522 Web Admin page !

- there is absolutely no doubt that I am connected to my D-LINK 1360, not even a 1% doubt, I'm more than fully sure -

Id do this, factory reset the DAP and set up as a AP. Set up a new SSID on it that differs from the last. Once setup, confirm the DAPs web page by connect wired and wireless. Try different devices to connect to the DAPs web page. Be sure to clear out all web browser caches...Post your results for wired and wireless.

Thanks.
Reset > OK
AP setup > OK
Change SSID > OK
Browser cache clean up > OK
----------------
Device 1 (PC) :
Wired > 1360 interface
Wireless > 1522 interface

Device 2 (AiO PC) :
Wired > 1360 interface
Wireless > 1522 interface

Device 3 (iPad) :
Wireless > 1522 interface

Lets try this, download the FW file from here:
http://www.dlinkmea.com/site/index.php/site/productDetails/724 (http://www.dlinkmea.com/site/index.php/site/productDetails/724)

Set a static IP address on a WIRED LAN PC to 192.168.0.49.
Disconnect the DAP from the main network and connect the PC wired to the DAP.
Factory reset the DAP using the UI.
Re-load the FW file and let it process.
Factory reset the DAP once more then set up from scratch.

Does the 1522 still appear when you connect wirelessly?

Set a static IP address on a WIRED LAN PC to 192.168.0.49 > Check
Disconnect the DAP from the main network and connect the PC wired to the DAP. > Check
Factory reset the DAP using the UI. > Check
Re-load the FW file and let it process. > Check
Factory reset the DAP once more then set up from scratch.  > Check

Not totally fixed but a small change :
- When the DAP is disconnected from the main network, I can reach the appropriate 1360 UI over WiFi
- When connecting the DAP to the main network, the UI is again of a DAP 1522

Again, there is absolutely no DAP 1522 existing in the environment
When DAP is connected to the main network, I keep the PC WiFi Card IP forced to 192.168.0.xx and gateway to 192.168.0.50
Otherwise, I'll be getting my modem UI (which is a normal behaviour)

You may have a faulty unit or something odd is happening. I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.
