Can you set up these cams to operate only within your router/network rather than using the internet connection. We have a cap of 300GB per month and our cams easily use 200+ not leaving much for us, so we have went over several times. I have reduced pic quality, but the whole point in using these is to see/record what is going on, so if I reduce it too much, what's the point.
Thanks!!

Yes. Internet usage only takes place when the DCS-942L is accessed from outside of your LAN (e.g. when you monitor the cameras from a remote location outside of your LAN). If you refrain from remote access and only monitor the cameras from within your home, the camera usage shouldn't impact your throughput cap.

Ways to access your camera without impacting Internet usage:
- Use mydlink from a PC connected to the same LAN as the DCS-942L
- Enter the IP address of the camera using an Internet browser on a PC connected to the same LAN as the DCS-942L
- Use mydink Lite or mydlink+ from a mobile device connected directly to your local wireless network (not your data carrier such as Verizon)
- Make sure all DCS-942L recordings are saved to the internal SD card or a storage location located within your LAN
- If you are using D-ViewCam or an NVR, make sure both are hosted within the same LAN as your DCS-942L
How are you currently accessing your camera feed and/or recordings?
