Hi,
I'm tempted to try a wireless set up for my NAS for read not write. FurryNutz gave a titbit of advice in anouther post (quoted below).
I've found an old Netgear wireless adapter (WGE111) its about 10 years old, would it do the trick?

You could connect a D-Link model DAP bridge to the DNSs LAN connection.
Some suggestions for Bridges:

It would possibly work however your connection would be limited to 100Mb on the wired cable side then get even slower on the wifi as this product only supports 54Mb WiFi connection speeds. The LAN connection on the DNS is 1000Mb. If your going to do any streaming or file xfers, you need something better than this product.
I recommend one of the bridges listed in that article I posted to you:
D-Link DAP-1522, 1525,1533, 1650 or DIR-880L, 868L, 865L
These all have 1000Mb LAN connection support and good WiFi supporting speed way higher that 54mb.
Don't install a bottle neck if at all possible. ;)

Though the speed might be an issue.
My wireless is limited to 54 mps anyway! Compatability issues with a sound system.

Power yourself a couple of POE adapters that support up to 500Mbit/s to avoid doing Wifi.

I just found a dlink 655 in my loft I don't suppose there is anyway to use this to connect my 325 to my current network by wireless is there?
It seems to have had bridge functionality in it originally but this was removed by a firmware update. Not sure if I'd have applied the update though so it might still be there. If not can I use it as a an AP? this post describes how to set up the router as an AP.

Cheers for the info. Confirmed that I need a bridge an not an ap.
Hopefully I'm still running the old firmware and bridging is configured.
