Hello,

I just purchased two DCS-2210 cameras. I am running them via PoE. One of them in the garage, the other inside my house. I am looking to purchase several outdoor cameras, but am hesitant until this nightvision issue gets resolved. I currently have the Logitech Alert cameras and the nightvision is perfect.

Here is a screenshot of what the nightvision looks like on my camera. Both cameras, in different places have the same issue. There is a halo effect that circles the outside of the frame, almost like a fish eye.

Any suggestion on why this is occurring?

When configuring the cameras for Night Mode did you set your IR Light to On or Sync with ICR? Try both options and see if one has an improved image over the other. Log into the web UI and navigate to ADVANCED > ICR and IR > IR LIGHT.

I also noticed what appears to be a subtle ring around a daytime image you posted on another thread relating to the Justconnect+ image. I've never observed anything like that before. Did you try resetting the Image settings?

Also, did you upgrade to the latest firmware (v1.20 I believe).

That ring on the image in the JustConnect post is actually when the camera is in nightvision. Once nightvision is off, the image is perfect. The firmware is v 1.2 on both cameras.

After resetting the image settings to default, the image did not improve.

That ring is something I haven't seen in other camera models. I've forwarded your images to my contact at D-Link. If I hear anything I'll let you know.

I've seen this on one or 2 of my 2230s.

Noticeable only in night vision mode.
It's like the filter is the issue when using the ir light.

Try flipping the filter a couple times.

Flip between Day Mode and Night Mode several times.

Based on the image you provided, it looks like the camera is mounted in a large garage. Can you please point the camera to a closer wall and post day/night images for comparison that are better lit?  BTW how far away is the furthest wall of the garage from the camera?

I'd like to see some better images of that ring.  ???   :-\

The furthest part you can see in this frame (my car tire) is under 12 feet away.

This may be too simple a solution, but did you try cleaning the lens? A garage can get pretty dusty.

I purchased it brand new from NewEgg and installed it right from the box and immediately noticed this issue, nut just for the sake of it, it inspected the lens and it looked perfect, and even cleaned it again but that didn't help.

You can see around the edge especially on the right side, a lot of color distortion.

It must be an issue with the IR light control because the halo only appears when it is on.

I've seen that too on a 2230 I have.
Put the camera image quality in low noise.

Are there any LEDs illuminated on the camera?  Maybe they're reflecting inside the housing and onto the sensor assembly.  The LEDs can be turned off for testing.

Or perhaps there is a gap between the IR cut filter and sensor that is allowing internal infrared (from hot components) to leak in.

Interesting idea on the ir bleed. To me it almost looks like a mold or something on the filter.
