Title: Multicast with Panasonic Blu-Ray Player
Post by: AudioMan612 on February 23, 2014, 04:11:55 PM
Hi, I'd like to enable multicast streams on my router, but when I do, my Panasonic DMP-BDT500 (latest firmware) loses its ability to work with DLNA and the remote app on my Android phone becomes unable to see my Blu-Ray player.  I already have UDP and TCP endpoint filtering set to endpoint independent.  Does anyone know what might be causing this?  I have a feeling that it's a problem with the router and chances of a firmware update on this old product are slim...

This maybe a incompatibility issue or an out dated driver issue between the router and the BD player. I presume that either maybe the player or android have newer or different networking standards and drivers in there FW that may now precede the FW on the 855 thus not working correctly.

Ya this unit and all the rest listed here have been phased out and no longer being developed.

Hardware version: A2
Firmware is current (1.24NA)
Region is North America

Everything is up-to-date including the Blu-Ray player's firmware.

I figured this would be a problem that wouldn't get fixed, but it was worth asking.  D-Link did release firmware 1.24 not too long ago, so I suppose the router isn't 100% forgotten.

I presume that is the last of the updates for this router. The release notes say it "Improved compatibility issues with Samsung galaxy S4" There were serveral routers that had this issue last year.
