Possibly it's binding to the wrong NIC or subnet. You can set broadcast addresses to look for device servers in the Shareport utility Options screen.

how do i set the broadcast?

			-
In the main Shareport window, click 'Option' (wrench tool symbol), tab "Search (or find) device servers. Here you can enter another subnet to additionally look for devices.

				hi,
was able to add the broadcast and is now able to detect the device, but the problem now is when i try to connect to the device it just returns to the status available..

You might want to try the new 1.32 beta firmware. The changelog states that Shareport issues have been solved. I'm running it now and no issues thus far.
