Title: Connection problems while running Draft N
Post by: blakehenry on October 21, 2007, 11:54:04 AM
After exchanging a few emails with D-Link they could not fix my problem. When I try to use  Draft N (300 mbps) I cannot play music smoothly, it also does affect the mouse.  This is the setup I am currently running.
2.66 Ghz O/C to 3.00 Pentium D (Duel core)
Geforce 8800 GTS Graphics
D-Link Range booster N PCI card
D-Link DIR-625 Router (Rev A2) (Firmware 1.09)
1.5 Gb pc5300 ram
Now, when I switch it to G 54 mbps the problem disappears. It is very annoying and would like to know if there is any way to fix this.

EDIT: It also drops connection every once in awhile.

Change the Channel Width to 20Mhz from the router configuration page. Also try changing the Beacon Period to 80 from the Advanced Wireless Settings under the Advance Wireless. What channel are you using currently?

Changed channel width to 20MHZ and changed the beacon period to 60, I was using 20/40 auto before and the beacon was set at 100

The audio issue can also be resolved by updating the drivers.
With the router at 20 Channel Width, the client will never connect at 300Mbps.

Which drivers are you referring to? He's running firmware 1.09, which appears to be the most current on the website.

I was referring to the drivers for the wireless adapter.
Ensure those are the latest version from www.support.dlink.com.

On the 192.168.0.1 address, and using "admin" to log in with no password, click "setup" then "wireless settings" then "manual wireless network setup" you'll find channel width there.
