Title: ntp server messed up, again
Post by: drick on May 22, 2009, 07:02:43 AM
hi,

i went through the same thing on my dns323&dns343 but it appears that the bug has followed over to the 825.

i have time set to to pst, dst enabled, and ntp enabled. dst settings are as close (exact dates are not avail) to the same as the ones i used on my 323; http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=5500.0

the only problem is that the 825 is reporting a time of 1045 am pst, and 0700 pst right now

i also tried changing the ntp server to several differnet combination to no avail.

what am i doing wrong?

drick, what firmware version is installed on your router?  If it's v1.00 then I'd recommend upgrading to v1.01 but hold off on v1.11 (which has some know issues that D-Link is currently working on).

Also, which server are you using?

I currently have firmware v1.01 installed with the following settings and the time is spot on:

Time zone: Mountain
Enable Daylight Savings = True (checked)
Daylight Savings Offset = +1:00

Enable NTP Server = True
NTP Server Used: ntp1.dlink.com

oops, i'm actually on 1.11 already.

i tried both dlink servers, and then a couple other ones from my other post.

i actually found a workaround. i did a pc synch with the router, and now it seems to be working correctly. what happened on my dns's is i lost the hour as the day turned over, so i'll check this tomorrow.
