Title: Ubuntu + DWA 643 can see networks but not connect
Post by: justinkelly on July 02, 2012, 06:20:18 PM
Hi Guys

I've have ubuntu 12.04 on a hp mini 2140 netbook and added a DWA-643

The dwa-643 lights up and ubuntu starts and I can see the list of available wifi networks
- refer below image:

The hp mini also has a builtiin broadcom wifi card but i dont use it as its not well supported with linux

I purchased the dwa-643 as it is listed of the fsf website as a linux supported/works card
* http://www.fsf.org/resources/hw/index_html/net/wireless/index_html/cards.html

Has anyone experienced this issue or know anythign that can be done?

Note: ive tried to turn encyrption off on the wifi router (netgear dgn2000) , set it to wep, wpa2 and pretty much all settings i can find with no luck

Cheers

Justin
