				I'm using firmware 1.04.

I have my DHCP lease time ste to 480 minutes. That is 8 hours.. right?

Well, guess what... My router is renewing the DHCP leases once every 4 hours.

Here are todays log entries so far...

May/26/2008 08:12:04    DHCP lease IP 192.168.0.100 to gameroom
May/26/2008 04:12:05    DHCP lease IP 192.168.0.100 to gameroom
May/26/2008 00:12:07    DHCP lease IP 192.168.0.100 to gameroom

I expect it to renew the lease to 'gameroom' at 12:12 this afternoon... I'l let you know if it does.

 :-\

				Ah ha!!!!

Indeed DHCP did it's thing after 4 hours:

May/26/2008 12:12:01    DHCP lease IP 192.168.0.100 to gameroom

So - this is a real easy to reproduce bug.

Anyone else able to provide log file entries the same way?
-
Standard protocol is to attempt to renew leases at half their life, this is normal operation.

Why is this a concern for you?

Really? I was not aware of that!!!  :o

It is a concern because it renews at half  the time it was set to renew them. If its standard protocol, then its how its done.

 Fair enough.

(After a few minutes digging, I found this "easy to understand" explanation:

Isn't it amazing what you can find out just by looking?

Yeah it filed in the annals of useless networking knowledge.

I find that with a little creative wiki use I can convince most people I walk on water, tis quite amusing.

 Glad to help.
