I was wondering if this router does what is says it does and is as good as advertised without updating the firmware.

If you can get a hold of one with the 1.02 firmware then it will work fairly well on all but rtsp pages and not all of them have trouble with them.  My original a1 would crash and reboot when loading a rtsp page on 1.02.  My a2 handles then just fine on 1.16b3.  Just so you know if you have a router with 1.2x it is possible to downgrade your firmware to 1.15 or as low as 1.12 with some special firmware over at dslreports.

GEt one and try it out if you can buy from a place that has a refund policy. Not everyone has issues with this 4500. Look at my sticky about Gaming and Gamefuel

well if you have any information regarding PS connections and such. I'll add it no problem. I don't use PS consoles so why it's mostly for xbox. Let me know you have any information for PS units. Be detailed about it.
