have you just tried copying the whole file to the PC itself, then run the file that way and see if lag is still there?

need to isolate the problem first

Are you streaming to a media extender or your PC media player?

No, the problem is not with the file or the PC's. I have to copy the file to my pc to play it, that is the problem. I should not have to copy files back and forth to view them.
No I do not have a media extender. I'm playing the files with WMP on a PC.

Hmm I have not had any problems like this. Please try out the new firmware 1.04 available on the DNS-323 support website.

I use XBMC and I stream everything.

I had to turn the LAN settings to 100.  Auto and 1000 for some reason were 'quirky.  I think it's because the XBOX is 10Mbps.

good luck

XBMC > DGS-2205 > DNS-323 (set to 100Mbps)
