Problem with printer
« on: May 16, 2010, 04:55:27 AM »

I have a DNS323 hard rev C firmware 1.08
I would install a usb printer canon I850

when I install the printer on windows vista everything seems to work.
I run printing, print queue pops up the document and then disappears. But no print comes out of the printer

But when I look at the status page DNS323, the printer is there ...

Have you any idea?

Are you sure you have the right port configured on your PC?
Do you have at least 1 HDD installed in the DNS323?

I have two HDD on my Nas

I have used the Dlink documentation to install the printer.
add printer -> network printer f-> find the printer on the nas -> add driver...

is there a log of the spooler on the NAS ?

I've added a bunch of printers to various DNS-323 boxes over the last several years, all have worked fine.  Other than loading the drivers, it normally works.

It sounds like a problem occurred during the installation and you don't actually have a connection to the NAS printer.

Thanks all.

I find the solution.
in the printer propertie in windows, desactivate the propertie "advanced print function" and after it's ok.

Yep, that function assumes a bi-directional interface, doubtless what caused the issue.
