I purchased a DSC 5020L which has turned into being a VERY disappointing camera
Besides not being able to view directly due to java issues (even though I can see the video when I am setting motion detection) I find the video and images to be blurry to the point of being unsable
the optics are clean and I upgraded the firmware
any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated

The 5020 has an external focus ring around the lens. Try turning it to sharpen up the image.

yes and it change the degree of blurriness

Keep turning it. You can unscrew practically the entire lens assembly from the base. I had to do this with one of my 5020's to get it in focus.

oh I have been I finally got something that doesn't give me a headache but its the worse image of any of my cams

Hi,

Any idea, solution, other ?

Not really my manual focus also seems to slip.....
-
so, the images, the cam is unusable anymore :-(
?
-
solution ?
bring the camera back to the shop ? (warranty?)
-
Did you recently change the general distance to the objects the camera is focusing on? i.e. is the camera now looking at more distant (or closer) objects than before?

If the camera is still within the return period of the vendor, you can certainly try returning it. This approach is preferable to the D-Link RMA process which requires you to pay for the shipping to return the camera to D-Link. D-Link pays for shipping a new/replacement unit back. The D-Link warranty period for new cameras is 1-year.

Camera and objets not moved....
Will try to bloc the 'focus ring' with a piece of tape....
Otherwise... back to the shop
Thanks

I examined 1 of my 5010l's. External focus ring wobbly and easily moved. I noticed when I wiped dust off it that it lost a little focus.
