Session Timeout Error on Login
« on: February 10, 2011, 06:56:44 PM »

So I know this is not a problem with the 4100, but I forgot what the Dlink support folks told me last year to address it and I'm no longer under warranty.

I have 6 computers in the house network.   One running Win2K w/ IE6 and another running WinXP w/ IE8 give me this "Session timeout, please try again" as soon as I input my password and enter.   The others login just fine but are Macs so I can't compare settings.   I had this fixed but recently had to restore original preload images on these two which lost hard drives.

I remember the support folks pointed to some browser setting that causes this erroneous problem on the router admin page but I cannot recall.   And I've lost the setting in restoring their drive images.   Does anyone else recall this problem and how to get the browser configured to let you logon to the router admin page?

Thanx,

I have a similar problem. Had 5 computer on my home network working fine and all of the sudden can't connect more than two without getting a slow or timeout connection. Hopefully some D-Link support personal see this and could help us.

Its recommended to use static IP addressing on the router and set all connected devices to automatic in networking. Also make sure your primary and 2ndary DNS IP addresses are being filled in under Setup/Internet/Manual. Try using DSN Relay option. Turn off Advanced DNS Services. Clear the browser cache as well.

Log in to the router and use the default pass word or the one you set up. Also try using a different browser, Opera, FF, Flock. Let us know if this works.

I've had problems trying to login to the router using the PS3's browser, but not from a computer. Although I really don't use IE much. Have you tried Firefox, Chrome or anything else?
