IC on IR board toasted
« on: February 18, 2016, 12:55:57 AM »

I bought a 2nd hand 932L cam, and I've been using it for weeks without any problem. Suddenly, it started to fail. The problem is that the IR lamps are always on. I tried to turn them off in the app, in the admin console, but they are always on. I opened the cam to see what was happening inside, and I've found that an IC that is in the IR board is fried.
I'd like to try changing the IC for one new, but I can't see the reference number because it's burned. Please, can anyone tell me the reference of this IC or post a photo where I can see it?
Thanks a lot. There is a photo of the IC I'm talking about.

You'd probably have to crack open a new 932L and see what would be seen there.  ::)

Yes I know but I'm not going to buy one to see it. That's why I'm asking for help to anyone who has this model.
I'll be grateful if someone opens his camera and posts a photo of the IR board.

Hope someone will. I remember someone had some pictures of a camera, I'm not sure if it was this model or different. I was a long time ago and someone was doing a modification to clear up either noise or video issues seen. You might try searching the forum for it. I wish I could be of more help. Hope someone may post though. I presume if you were to get the chip IDd that if you put in a new one, possible it may fail as something else maybe causing the chip to fail. over load on voltage or something. Is the power adapter still outputting correct volts and amps?

Yes, the power adapter is giving the right voltage and power but I had a problem before with the wires. The wires of the power cord broke and I think this was the cause of the failure. I had to open the power adapter and solder the wires again.
I've seen threads talking about hackings to avoid artifacts by replacing some capacitors but there are no pics of the IR board.
Thanks a lot.

Ok. Hope someone will post something. If someone doesn't, you might try to find a used one on fleabay or amazon for cheap ::).

Good Luck.

It's a BD6211F-E2, a Rohm H-bridge driver that controls the IR LEDs
