Privacy separator?  :o

What is the model# of this printer?
How are you trying to connect it? Wired or wireless?

Hi, thanks for responding. Basically, when I try to wirelessly connect an ipad air 2 to a brother hl-3180cdw printer I get a message that it can't connect and I need to disable the privacy separator on the router. I've looked around the net and seen other people have this problem but it seems odd and I have not found an answer nor a privacy separator option on the router.  Also had a really old dlink router that worked fine.

Sorry I also forgot to ask if its possible to add another router (like the old dlink that worked fairly well) to the network and use it just for the printer and ipad. I apologize if this is a silly question as I'm older and pretty tech deficient.

Ya, I don't believe there is any such feature called "privacy separator" on D-Link routers.
How is the iPad and printer connected to the router? To the main wifi SSID and password?

Disable Wireless Isolation, if you enabled it by accident.

The ipad, printer, all devices were manually connected to the network, all the same ssid and password. Now I can print once or twice and than  I get a message saying no air printers can be found.

What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.
What region are you located?
