I was unable to gain connection to my DNS 323  using the supplied EasySearch Utility - it no longer works with W10
Kept failing to map drive.

Eventually I managed to resolve issue by 2 steps

#1    enabled SMB 1.0 support  (using OptionalFeatures)
#2    direct mapped using CMD       Net use Y: \\MachineName\ShareName

While I can now access the DNS 323
Is there a way to get it to work with SMB2.0  ? ...... as SMB1.0 is no longer recommended by Microsoft and disabled as standard ..... if you try to connect without SMB1.0 enabled you to get the following error
"You can't connect to file share because it's not secure.  This share requires obsolete SMB1 protocol, which is unsafe and could expose your system to attack.  Your system requires SMB2 or higher"

Anyway to get DNS 323 to run SMB2  ?

Unfortunately the DNS-323 was discontinued many years ago and will not get an update to SMB 2.0.  D-Link no longer manufactures NAS devices so no need to pay the licensing fees for SMB 2 (SMB 1 is free thus many companies still use it)

You can get Windows 10 to work with SMB 1.0. Just needs to be enabled in Windows 10. I have it enabled to access my two DNS-345s.

Yes currently turn it on when needed using 'optionalfeatures'   MS stats its unsafe to leave enabled due to hacking vulnerability.
Hence they have now disabled (presumably in a recent W10 release)

Be nice to have a better solution .... saw the comment about using NSF instead, but no knowledge of that.

I've left SMB v1 enabled on my PC. NO hacking issues.
