And can you tell me what firmware I should use that will work with the DCS930L-1420 Revision of the wizard?

OK.

I got a new device (replacement from Amazon).  However, the problem did not get fixed.

********* This is a confirmed problem, not with one device, but with all devices ************

*********  When the live video fails to show when the device is accessed over the internet using the dynamic dns name, only the picture header appears with a date 2004-1-1 00:00:00 AM" with the default page as .../jview.htm *****************

The same failure appears even when ActiveX mode is selected.

DLink needs to trouble shoot this.  The 3rd level support guy says that he has never seen this problem before - HELLO, are you reading this post DLink Support!

I have the same problem with 2 cams.  These are becoming a liability as I record 24x7.  I have to check daily to ensure the cams are not disconnected.  When I change jpeg quality, it starts to work temporarily and reverts back after a day or so. DCS-932L

I am also suffering from the problem of the camera not being visible from the internet.
I have a number of IP cams, from Foscam and Linksys and also a DLink DCS-932L. I have forwarded WAN access ports to each of them and they all work perfectly well with access from both inside and outs ide of the LAN. All except the 930L.

The weird thing is that I can see the both DLink cameras  on My DLink. I can email and ftp images from the 930L but I cannot connect to the 930 GUI page from outside. It seems pushed connections work but that the 930L is not responding to WAN requests. I have tried forwarding various ports but none will work, not even port 80. Identical settings on the 932L work just fine.

I have tried using several DDNS services as well as my numeric WAN IP number but with no luck. I am running firmware 1.04, updated from the default as suggested by MY DLINK.

From the nature of the issue and in the light of the postings by other users I do not think it is a hardware issue. I wonder if those who can connect OK from the internet are using another firmware?

If so, is it possible to downgrade the firmware to that installed from default?

Any help or suggestions would be welcome.

Well, I have solved the problem at least as far as it relates to me.

I did rather unscientifically did two things either of which may have solved the issue.

From the camera GUI I performed a factory reset (Maintenance/System/Restore Factory Defaults)

I suspect this was something less than a full firmware reset as my admin password had not reverted to the default. Also, I noted the firmware was still showing as 1.04, as it had before the reset. As it does not display the build number and I cannot recall the original firmware revision I cannot say for sure that this is the original factory firmware.

I changed Network Options
When setting up the Network Options I changed the default from UPnp Enable/UPnP Port Forwarding OFF to  UPnp Enable/UPnP Port Forwarding ON (Setup/Network Setup/UPnP Settings).
I think this change in options was the key factor.

Anyone else finding the designated port is not forwarding even the uPnP is set to Enable then try changing both options to Enable.

Hope this helps.

UPDATE:

The camera was up and running and remotely accessible but not visible on my My DLINK camera page. Shortly after I used the Install Wizard to add it then I noticed it was now no longer visible directly in a web browser when accessed remotely. I half suspected it My DLink was at fault earlier when I found I could view remotely on the My DLink page.

I then deleted the 930L from My Dlink, used the install wizard to reset the camera without registering it on My Dlink, rebooted and now the 930L is visible again.

Make of that what you will!

I believe that this is a software problem with D-Link.  My webcam used to work fine, but just recently I only get as far as the spinning icon with the cation “Loading mydlink function...” but it never finishes, in spite of the fact that the camera icon shows with a green checkmark.  Also, I CAN access the webcam using the DLink app on my iPhone.  I have NOT changed to the new Mac system software yet, so one cannot say that Mountain Lion is the problem.

A correspondent of mine reports that all his D-Link webcams are also suddenly unreachable.

Conclusion: this is DLink software problem.  I suspect that their software is a bit goofy.  A good temporary solution for DLink is to undo whatever they recently did to cause the problem, and send their programers back to the coding room to do things right next time.  Ands this time, TEST the code before putting it into general use.

I ran into the same issue, camera worked locally but not in the remote Internet section. What causes this problem is that if you register the camera with an email address for your dlink account then the MAC address is tied to that account, so if you sign into mydlink lite or through the website with a different account, then you won't be able to add the camera to the other account. If that happens you have to re-run the CD program or the setup wizard program from dlink's website that corresponds to your camera model, then reset the device to factory defaults, once complete you can register the camera to the original account (all cameras have to be set up on the same account and same wifi) reconfigure it with the same equipment.
