« on: June 03, 2011, 03:27:49 PM »

The latest beta firmware update (v.1.05b01) is now posted.
Two firmware updates inside of a month, what more can you ask for? :)

ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Multimedia/dns343/Beta/Firmware/dns343_FW_105_beta

It wasn't put in a zip file but the firmware IS in there.

I am always the first to complain about D-Link's lack of support, so let me be among the first to compliment them on the support that is going on now.

That being said, I have updated to 1.05b01 without issue.  The one thing I did notice after update was:

Current NAS Firmware Version : 1.05
Current OLED Firmware Version : 1.04

I don't know if this is intentional or not.

I assume you mean the firmware version being displayed on the OLED screen correct?

I installed v1.05x on one DNS-343, and so far so good.

...I have updated to 1.05b01 without issue.  The one thing I did notice after update was:

Current NAS Firmware Version : 1.05
Current OLED Firmware Version : 1.04

My DNS-343 displays the proper version (1.05) on the web interface and OLED. Did you try rebooting the unit?

On the OLED screen the firmware version shows 1.05, as it should.

When accessing the settings section via web browser under the Maintentance tab and "Firmware Upgrade" section where you go to initiate a firmware upgrade it shows:

Current NAS Firmware Version : 1.05
Current OLED Firmware Version : 1.04

This may be correct information and that is what I am asking.  Should they match?  In other words, after upgrading to the current beta (1.05b01) are we still supposed to be at OLED firmware version 1.04?

From what I remember, the OLED firmware was not changed in this version.

If your system is stuck at boot, you may want to try resetting to the factory defaults by holding the button on the rear of the device for 5 seconds, rebooting, and trying the upgrade again.

Sorry for the late response but it finally did boot last night. Thanks for the previous advice.

Yes, it took longer than usual to rebooting the device after 1.05 update, thought I had bricked it but was relieved to see it come back up.
Did JavaLawyer say he had both Current NAS Firmware Version and Current OLED Firmware Version showing up as 1.05? my Current OLED Firmware Version is still at 1.04

My error, the OLED firmware is v1.04.  D-Link did not perform any updates to the OLED firmware in this latest beta version.

All good, it's nice to see DLINK addressing the fan error straight away.
The only issue I have found with 1.05b01 is that there seems to be more fan activity than the prior firmware 1.04b03 I was using
