Title: Locked out of DNS-320L Web-Interface after upgrade
Post by: jdiy on August 26, 2017, 10:46:40 AM
Hi,

i updated to DLINK_DNS320L(LW).1.10b01(3.07.0616.2017) and the drive mounts just fine, as it did before, using NFS.

However I can't get into the Web-Interface. I'm using the admin account with no password. I still get to the introductory screen, where the admin name is missing, However there is an option before the space where the admin name should be. I choose this options and click login, but this fails with a "server not found" error.

I'd like to add some pictures, to clearify, what I'm talking about, but I can't find a way, to insert attachments here.

Has anyone any idea, what I could do about this?

Regards

What browser are you using? Try IE11 or FF after doing a factory reset on the DNS.
Be sure to clear any browser caches before accessing the UI page.
Disable any 3rd party security software or browser add-ons.

Thanks

  • What region are you located?

Germany

What browser are you using? Try IE11 or FF

I use FF. IE would be a hassle, because I'd have to use wine, because I'm on a Linux-only-system here. I tried to connect to another DNS from the same computer and browser for comparison and there everything is just fine.

after doing a factory reset on the DNS.

What will this do to the data on the drives? Do I have to save it first? The manual says, that I should press and hold the reset button for more than 5 seconds, but doesn't explain, what this leads to.

Meanwhile I found this post http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=51663.0

So here is, what I see

on connecting

after clicking the login button

Thanks for your proposals.

I presume this is a FF/Linux issue.

Can you select any emulation modes on FF for other browsers?

I presume this is a FF/Linux issue.

Um ... turns out to be a stupidity issue.

Can you select any emulation modes on FF for other browsers?

This gave me the right ideas. I tested with Opera and Vivaldi and lo and behold, they couldn't connect from the start. It seems that the first picture comes right out of the cache of Firefox.

My hypothesis what had happened goes like this: Because of the recent samba vulnerability,Ii had the NAS disconnected for some time, before I got around to do the updates. It seems that the DNS-lease may have expired, so it now has a new IP.

Thanks for all the suggestions which pushed me in the right direction.
