Unfortunately the DCS-8xxxLH series cameras are app-only.

I’m too very disappointed with this camera. I’ve been using 4 dsc-5222s and thought I’d buy another for my wife’s office only to discover that I have laggy connection issues n unable to Record it to the NAS.
Well the team that came up with the idea of just using their half baked buggy app as the only means to control the camera deserves to be shot.

Well if the design team is reading this, I think you guys better get your act together.

Also very very very disappointed! Paid a good amount of $$$ for this camera to only be controlled by ONE app to where your other cameras can run by Muti D-Link apps.. I'm glad I only purchased one... Cannot for the life of me get the camera to record on a SD card... Should be simple and self explanatory like other manufacturers in this market... If something ever seriously happens Thank God I have a back-up camera... To me the DCS-8525LH is a paper weight... I have a SD Card because why buy cloud storage....Oh well like they say you live and learn...

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this.
Link> Tech Support Contact Information (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?board=635.0)
We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.

I too am very disappointed with the DCS-8525LH. What a monumental waste of money. Spent my hard-earned thinking I'd get a premium HD product only to discover that it can't be accessed and controlled from a PC.

The MyDlink app provides primitive and clumsy control over the pan-tilt functions. I have seven other DLink IP cameras and their video streams can be viewed via D-ViewCam. If  DCS-8525LH is confined only to the app then the designers of this model have seriously missed the mark.

yep, bought 2, me NOT buy another DCS-8525LH, i should have read entire specs.
Still use 5 of 5222 for now.
My take, maybe DLink trying get subscription based revenue with 8525, since only 1 way to access.
