DAP1525 in bridge mode kills Sirius TTR1 internet radio
« on: January 11, 2013, 05:57:00 PM »

Hi Everyone,

Here is my setup:

DIR-826L with cable modem, wireless using WPA2, a DAP-1525 connected in wireless bridge mode and a Sirius TTR1 internet radio connected to a dedicated guest ssid separate from another SSID I use to connect laptop, tablet, iphone, etc.

For some reason, I have to turn off the DAP-1525 if I want to use the TTR1.  If I don't, the radio loses it's connection and IP address between five and twenty minutes after it starts.  If the DAP1525 is turned off, it will work for hours on end.  ANy ideas on how to fix this?

Link>Welcome!
What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under router.
Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on routers web page under status.
What region are you located?

Can the TTR1 conect to the 1525 at all?

Can you configure the 1525 in AP mode and then connect the TTR1 to the 1525 and see if it will work here?

Usually when DAPs are in brige mode, there isn't anything being process or should be effected as the DAP is acting like a pass thru for traffic.

Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices ON the main hostrouter. This ensures each devices gets its own IP address when turned on and connected, eliminates IP address conflicts and helps in troubleshooting.
Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.

Ok, got this thing figured out.

For whatever reason, disabling the 5GHz wireless bands on the DIR-826L fixed the problem.  I'm not sure why it made a difference because the TTR1 radio would work with this config so long as the DAP-1525 was turned off.  TUrning off the 5GHz band allowed the radio to work with the DAP-1525 turned on.

Hopefully this will help someone else.

Wonder if the TTR1 is effected by 5Ghz radios?

Glad you go it working.

Enjoy.
