DNS 340L & Plex Server?
« on: June 07, 2017, 02:47:36 PM »

Dear Sirs,

Im an owner of a DNS340L, and now I bought a LG TV with webos 3.0.
I decided to install PLEX to see all my multimedia on the TV, but I can't connect the TV with the NAS, the error message is the TV can't find the Plex Server.
I installed the free version of it (from here http://dlink.vtverdohleb.org.ua/Add-On/? - Developer: vtverdohleb) and all goes fine, but I tried to run something from the mobile phone with plex app, and from the phone I can see the Multimedia PLEX Server, but it cant run nothing because " the server is not enough powerful to convert video".

Is possible to run the PLEX Server on this NAS?

Thanks.

Plex server needs a lot of processing power to work. It doesn't work well with a lot of low - medium end units.

You can try installing Plex server on a computer, create shared drives to your media folders on the NAS, and point Plex server to the shares.

With Plex v1.5 works, in any case, via the web interface began to show video. As I understand it, now the video is broadcasted via HTML5, not the flash player (transcoding is required).
