Let us know how it works for you...

I only see FW V1.12B10 at the link. Installed and seems to be working fine, no issues though. Thanks for the heads up.
-
My bad. Typo. ::)

My bad. Typo. ::)
I was wondering but I'm not one to throw stones when it comes to typos ;)
One comment on the new firmware. In the QoS section, there is now a drop down to select between optimizing between either devices, Apps or nothing. I didn't notice the drop down at first and it defaulted to the App view. It took me a second to realize there is now a drop down but all my devices were still set up the way they were prior to the firmware update.
-
Ya there a new drop down feature which first appeared on the 890L a few months back which I was told was going to be seen on the 89x series:
"New Features and Improvements seen:
I see that the UI of the QoS section has changed. Two modes of operation now, by Device or by Application. Also Detect ISP speed test. Seems to work. Found 98 and 3 of my 100 and 3 spec.
Also when Application is enabled, there is bandwidth gauges on each device you select in the Clients list."

Do you see any bandwidth gauges on the clients list?
Did you do a full factory reset then load FW, then factory reset then set up from scratch?
What browser are you using?
-
I did not do a full reset, I use powerline network adapters and they are pretty finicky to get working properly. Everything is working just so and I don't want to risk not being able to watch my movies on my WD-TV from my NAS drive. I did not see the bandwidth indicators I will have to take a look.
I'm using FF most of the time, sometimes Chrome.
Pete
-
Ok. Let us know what you see on the Client list and such.
If it's working then run it for a while and see how it goes.
-
I took a look at the client list. I can see the traffic speeds but on all of the ones I've reviewed it says 0 up and down. I know that's not accurate but not really a big deal to me, everything else seems to be working just fine.
-
Might have a look with a device that you know uses some bandwidth, do some streaming or a down load or something then watch the gauge. If you don't notice anything, Let us know. Glad it's working well otherwise.
-
Just downloaded the new firmware. Is there a bulletin on bugs fixed?
-
Information should be in the linked FAQ...
-
Thanks for the reply. Still have the issue though where I can't assign names or IP addresses beyond ~25 devices. "The maximum number of DHCP reservations has been exceeded." Also, in the wireless settings, it ignores the manual channel selection. I have channels 4, 48, and 161 selected (to avoid neighbors and also another router in the house) but it is broadcasting on 6, 42, and 155 (according to the app WiFiAnalyzer). No matter what channels I select on 5GHz it always broadcasts on 42 and 155. Even in SmartConnect mode it picks those channels on 5GHz.
-
D-Link router are limited to 24 reservations. Names should be editable though.
What browser are you using to edit the names and reservations?
What app are you using to determine channels being used?

Chrome and WiFiAnalyzer. I get the error message even when I try to edit names beyond ~25: "The maximum number of DHCP reservations has been exceeded."

Can you post a capture of the wifi settings our using while SC is disabled and also post your wireless scanner app results as well?
Adding Screenshots In A Post (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=58120.0)
Also can you confirm for us that you installed the v1.12 B10 from Nov 10th file and not the file from October?
-
Can....have to edit out my password tho... give me a couple minutes.

Take ur time. no rush. ???

Current Firmware Version: 1.12, Thu 22 Sep 2016
Current Firmware Date: 2016-09-22 17:57:00
I am CenturyLink1240 in those screenshots.
-
So when your not using SC, is the SSID name the same across all radios while in manual mode?
I would do the following, change the SSID names across each radio to be different.
What happens if you set 5Ghz radio 1 to 36 and radio 2 to 149?
Please post captures...Seem the channels you set and what is being reported by the scanner is not coinciding for some reason.
-
Were there more than one version of 1.12? Mine was dated September 22th.
-
Okay you made me suspicious of WiFi Analyzer on 5 GHz. So I downloaded a different app, also called WiFi Analyzer, and it shows the right frequencies, but the bogus ones reported by the old app in parentheses. I conclude that the 895L is working correctly. Thanks for the help!

Glad you were able to check it out.
Enjoy. ;)

Only issue I still have then is I get the error message even when I try to edit names beyond ~25: "The maximum number of DHCP reservations has been exceeded." Not trying to assign IP addresses (which I understand is limited to 24), just assign names.
-
What browser are you using when you editing the device names?

Chrome. But I just confirmed that it does the same thing with Microsoft Edge.
-
How about FF?
-
Sorry for the delay. The problem is the same in Firefox. When I try to rename a device, without trying to assign an IP address, I get this DHCP error message:

After how many items does this appear?
Would you submit a support ticket on this and include this forum thread for review.
Thank you.
-
Sure. How?
-
Go here and select the two drop down menus for DIR and 895L then give something the blank box. Then select continue to contact support, select email.
Fill in the email support ticket and give a link to this forum thread as well.
