ink>Welcome!

  • Are you wired or wireless connected to the router?
  • Has a Factory Reset been performed?
  • Was a Factory Reset performed before and after any firmware updates then set up from scratch?
  Link> >FW Update Process
  • Was the router working before any firmware updates?

Internet Service Provider and Modem Configurations
  • What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
  • What ISP Modem Mfr. and model # do you have?

Router and Wired Configurations
Some things to try: - Log into the routers web page at 192.168.0.1. Use IE, Opera or FF to manage the router. Besure to log into the Admin account on the router.
  • Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices ON the router. Setup/Networking. This ensures each devices gets its own IP address when turned on and connected, eliminates IP address conflicts and helps in troubleshooting and maintain consistency for applications that need to connect as well as mapped drives.
  • Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.
  • If IPv6 is an option on the router, select Local Connection Only under Setup/IPv6.
  • Set Firewall settings to Endpoint Independent for TCP and UDP under Advanced/Firewall. Enable or Disable SPI to test.
  • Enable uPnP and Multi-cast Streaming under Advanced/Networking. Disable uPnP for testing Port Forwarding rules. Enable IPv6 Multi-cast Streaming for routers that have a Media Server option. Disable IPv6 Multi-cast Streaming if IPv6 or Media Server is not being used.

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.

I believe that you should use either Virtual Server or PF or Application separately.

Also If you have .120 device in the DMZ while you have rules set up, DMZ will invalidate the rules and anything in the DMZ would not apply to any rules set up.

Virtual Server and uPnP can be enabled when in this configuration.
PF and uPnP should be disabled when in this configuration.

So if you connect the 615 router the PF works with this ISP modem? I presume if it does and if you have similar settings on the 816L, that this maybe a FW issue.
I recommend getting a hold of D-Link on the phone.

What do you have the DIR-816L connected to? What ever it is, if you connect directly to it, do you get a public IP?

DIR-816L is connected to a router modem connection via pppoe on vlan 600  , yes it does get a public ip via dhcp from isp the problem is to open port 2222 and 80  it cant seems to open  , u can check it your self the web admin address that i post earlier it just cant open port the webadmin and share port file sharing are just working fine on port 8080 and port 8181

What router/modem?  And I didn't ask if it gets a public IP, I was asking if your computer gets a public IP if connected directly to it. By your answer, I am thinking no. If the ISP device has router function, then you first have to forward the ports in it before you forwarding anything in the Dlink. It might be easier to just bridge the connection and have the Dlink do the pppoe.

yes thats what i do bridge the connection and have the Dlink do the pppoe ,the computer get a lan ip when connected to it via dhcp but it just cant open the port  for wan access for port forwarding but web admin access on port 8080 and 8181 are success i suspect it is a firmware bug because dlink modified it for vlan support
