Title: ac mode not working on my mac
Post by: aidin594 on January 23, 2015, 05:15:40 PM
Hi
My Mac mini and macbook could not connect to ac wifi and they choose n network instead but my android phone connects to ac.
I already tested ac only on 5ghz and it didn't solve the problem.
Router and clients are in same room.router firmware is the latest version.
What should I do for connecting to ac network.
What can be wrong?

Check your About This Mac from the black Apple icon in the upper left hand corner. Select Overview and go down to  Network/WiFi.

This is what my Mac Mini supports:
Interfaces:
en1:
Card Type:   AirPort Extreme  (0x14E4, 0x10E)
  Firmware Version:   Broadcom BCM43xx 1.0 (7.15.124.12.10)
  MAC Address:
  Locale:   FCC
  Country Code:   X0
  Supported PHY Modes:   802.11 a/b/g/n

I don't think AC mode is supported.  :-\

So if you want to use AC modes, you could install a USB AC adapter or connect the Mac via LAN wire to a AC wireless bridge.  ;)

Did you disable HT 20/40 Coexistance and go single mode N WPA2/AES only?
Changing channels is important too to one thats open and not used.
