Very Odd Issue With My 860L
« on: August 20, 2015, 06:17:36 PM »

So i have a very odd issue with my 860L So when i power the router off and unplug it from the wall outlet when i goto plug it back in i get the orange power light flashing. This happens everytime i take away power to it. So i set a static ip on my pc and it lets me get to the emergency flash it uploads and sometimes it takes and continues to boot and other times it goes back to flashing power light. I have picked my brain trying to figure this out and cannot seem to get this thing right again. When it is up and booted it works just fine and I am able to do everything i need to. below is my hardware version and what firmware its on

Hardware A1
Firmware 1.10 I have also tried 1.08 as well

Link>Welcome!

  • What region are you located?
  • Has a Factory Reset been performed?
  • Was a Factory Reset performed before and after any firmware updates then set up from scratch?

Can you measure the power output of the power adapter and ensure it's the same as what is stated on the sticker? I believe 12v 2amps is for this model router.

Are you using the back power button to turn off the router before un-pluging the power adapter from the wall outlet?

I am in the US and i have tested a different power supply with it and still have the same issue. I did a factory reset after the emergency flash. I have tried the power button before unplugging it and the issue still appears. Seems like now no matter what when i get to the emergency firmware page it says upload complete and rebooting but firmware doesnt stick and still have flashing power light

What browser are you using when your in the recovery mode? Try FF or IE

Emergency Recovery Mode

Besure to disable any PC security software and browser add-ons as these can interfere with FW updates....
