Title: 5 GHz stability using A2 HW running 1.4 firmware?
Post by: Reboot on February 01, 2010, 11:45:26 AM
Well, I did a factory reset and was able to connect and configure the router   :).
My Macbook will connect @ 2.6 GHz but if I try 5GHz the connection drops continually.  This is with out of the box A2 running firmware 1.14.  Any suggestions as to why no 5 GHz stability?

I would upgrade to 1.15. Give that a go, if that doesn't work then you'll know. My MacBook Pro as been working great on v1.22 and when I had v1.15 using both 2.4 and 5Ghz.

Can understand man. I to have had my share. Been running well now. I know and understand everyone's frustrations. Nothing is perfect in life, neither are we. Let us know how 1.15 goes.

kewl, let us know, check out my gaming and gamefuel settings. Don't have to use any or all of them. I just found settings that seem to work well. Could work well for you too. Let us know how it all goes.

Started losing connection again, every 10-15 minutes  ::)
I have disabled wish and set to 5GHZ N only connection to see if it makes a difference  ???.

Try 2.5Ghz N only next. If that doesn't work then cold be a bad unit. 5Ghz is working well for me though. How far are you away from the router on 5Ghz?

I have changed to 2.4GHz and this has been stable for me.  The thing just won't work at 5GHz.  I am not far from the router (router in games room downstairs, laptop in living room upstairs) the upstairs is open plan so no walls blocking and only a hardwood floor between (about70 feet from router).

I will stick with the 2.4 setting until Dlink gets its act together  >:(

well 5Ghz isn't good for going thru floors, I've been told that 5Ghz is only better in line of site. That far away and thru the floor probably will introduce problems FYI. Keep us posted on the 2.4Ghz.
