hi,
i had an HDD crashes. all 4 seems to crash. i rebooted the device and 3 of the 4 seemed to be up and running but the volumes didn't showed.
it asked to rebuild. after it's seems to finished i try rebooting again and all 4 HDD seemed ok.
but none of the volumes are available.
i had one volume in raid 5 and the other as JOBD.
can i restore the config of the volumes? is my data lost for good?
my nas was my backup and the raid was suppose to be backing it self up.

Link>Welcome! (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=49573.0)
- What Hardware version is your DNS? Look at the sticker behind or under the device.
- Link>What Firmware (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=47512.0) version is currently loaded? Found on the DNSs web page under status.
- What region are you located?
What Browser are you using?
I'll see if we can get some additional help on this...

First thing RAID is NOT a backup.
Next thing read the following article https://www.zdnet.com/article/raidfail-dont-use-raid-5-on-small-arrays/ (https://www.zdnet.com/article/raidfail-dont-use-raid-5-on-small-arrays/)
It will explain what you are seeing. It doesn't give answers but you MIGHT be able to recover some of your data if you are very lucky using one of the data recovery programs (they cost money and give no guarantee).
NOTE: Any data that does not have at least two separate (on different disks) copies is NOT backed up. RAID can be used for backup if there are two completely separate arrays preferably in different places.
