Just want to be sure that if I am not using RAID there is no danger to adding a 2nd drive or removing a drive from the DNS-323.  The data on the drive that stays in the box will be ok.

I am upgrading to one very large drive from two smaller ones, there should be no problem removing one, adding the large one, copy files over, then put the 2nd small drive in the unit in place of the 1st small drive, and copy those files.  This can all be done without moving the files to another location?  Correct?

Be very careful doing this. there are known issues when adding a new drive with an exsting one and the DNS-323 formating both drives or the wrong drive.
