Post by: pdion on June 11, 2009, 10:30:50 AM
So here is the problem I bought a D- link WBR 2310 and hooked it up to my shaw cable modem i set it up for dynami ip and WPA security i have one desktop, one laptop hooked up and one xbox 360 anll of wich are hooked up through wireless, now the problem is that after a random amount of time the connection to the router just drops i won't be able to access the internet nothing, but whats even worse is that i can't even see the SSID when i try to reconnect, i'm not 100% sure why its doing that, i looked around and found a few answers including poor shielding and firmware update but i'm just wondering if anyone had other suggestions as to waht culd cause this problem. BTW if i unplug the router and plug it back in everything goes back to normal and eventually cuts out again

What is the hardware and firmware version of your router? You may check if you router has the latest firmware, if not update the firmware.

Review the thread "WBR-2310 keeps on disconnecting" started bj "E.J." with several thousand views.

This model of router appears to exhibit this "feature".

Mine is relegated to wired devices only (for which it works well), as the wireless is effectively unusable.

I really HATE to say this, as I have used a lot of DLINK gear in the passed, but I think DLINK made a big mistake marketing this device.

IMO Best course of action is to return it to the store and buy something else, ANYTHING else in fact...
