The software contains pre-release “beta” or “alpha” code, which may not be fully functional and which D-Link may substantially modify in producing any “final” version.  D-Link can provide no assurance that it will ever produce or make generally available a “final” version.

CONFIDENTIALITY.  The Software contains confidential and/or proprietary information of D-Link. Accordingly, you agree that you will not, nor will you authorize or permit any third party to, distribute, transfer, assign, sublicense, or otherwise disclose to any third party the Software or any part thereof or any other confidential or proprietary information of D-Link provided in connection herewith, except as otherwise expressly provided in this Agreement.  D-Link shall be free to use all material, information or other communication you provide as part of your feedback (collectively, “Feedback”) and all such Feedback will be considered non-confidential and non-proprietary.

FEEDBACK.  To assist D-Link in identifying problems with and making improvements to the Software, D-Link invites your Feedback concerning any bugs, errors or other problems discovered during the course of your use of the Software.  By disclosing such Feedback to D-Link, you automatically assign to D-Link all right, title and interest in such Feedback (including, without limitation, all related intellectual property rights) without further compensation.

NO SUPPORT.  D-Link is not under any obligation to provide any support, installation, training or other services under this Agreement or otherwise with respect to the Software.

LIMITED MEDIA WARRANTY.  If the Software has been delivered by D-Link on physical media, D-Link warrants the media to be free from material physical defects for a period of ninety days after delivery by D-Link. If such a defect is found, return the media to D-Link for replacement or alternate delivery of the Software as D-Link may select.

CHANGE, CANCELLATION.  The Software contains “alpha” or “beta” designated pre-release features, which may not be fully functional and which D-Link may substantially modify in producing any “production-level” version of the Software.  D-Link can provide no assurance that it will ever produce or make generally available a “production-level” version of the Software.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY. IN NO EVENT SHALL D-LINK OR ITS SUPPLIERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES WHATSOEVER (INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, LOST PROFITS, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, OR LOST INFORMATION) ARISING OUT OF THE USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SOFTWARE NOR FOR PUNITIVE, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR SPECIAL DAMAGES OF ANY KIND, EVEN IF D-LINK HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

TERMINATION OF THIS AGREEMENT. D-Link may terminate this Agreement at any time if you violate its terms. Upon termination, you will immediately destroy the original and all copies of the Software.

APPLICABLE LAW. Claims arising under this Agreement shall be governed by the laws of California, excluding its principles of conflict of laws and the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the Sale of Goods.

ASSIGNMENT.  Neither this Agreement nor any rights or obligations hereunder may be assigned or delegated (whether by operation of law or otherwise) by you without D-Link's prior written consent.

WAIVER AND AMENDMENT.  No modification, amendment or waiver of any provision of this Agreement shall be effective unless in writing and signed by an officer of D-Link.  No failure or delay in exercising any right, power, or remedy under this Agreement shall operate as a waiver of any such right, power or remedy.  Without limiting the foregoing, terms and conditions on any purchase orders or similar materials submitted by you to D-Link, and any terms contained in D-Link’s standard acknowledgment form that are in conflict with these terms, shall be of no force or effect.

DIR-890L v1.09 B08
Chome to load FW and managed the router.

Mac Mini
OSX 10.10.5
Safari v9.01

After factory reset and set up using chrome and walking thru wizard. No QoS changes.

Speed test result Mac Book Pro OSX 10.10.5 5Ghz Channel 149 N mode with Smart Wifi enabled on router.

I set up some reservations and set QoS to 100/5:

Bugs Seen:
Copyright year needs updating? 2014
Still seeing a translate message in Chrome stating page is in chinese.
DIR-890L   HW:A1   FW:1.09 text is visually running into the D-LINK text graphic on the Home page.
After doing a reboot, Chrome browser connects to the dlinkrouter URL instead of 192.168.0.1 which was used during configuration. Is this a browser behavior or FW behavior?
Saw a web page not available, connection refused for a few seconds when manually re-registering the router with my MDL account. Then message disappeared and saw registered successful with MDL.

New Features:
I see some wireless graphics and status on the client icons. Nice. What does the 5G-2 mean? 5Ghz on radio 2? This is nice to see this. The DCS-933L showed a wireless icon however not which radio.

Editing device names and saving seems to be working. Users will love this.  ;D

A few things I've noticed so far - BETA Firmware v1.09 Build 08 (Beta Released 11/10/2015)

Recommended update protocol followed (Factory Reset / Upload Firmware / Factory Reset)
Using iMac 27" - latest OS X - latest version of Safari

*I am not able to select the WI-FI channel - it always reverts back to AUTO
*I am STILL not able to edit device names / reserve IP addresses for devices after 890L has been up / running / configured for awhile

Is SmartWifi enabled?

I'll have a look at mine. Try Chrome, Opera or FF and test to see if same problem.

If you reboot the router, can you made any reservations or edit names?

I cannot make any reservations / edit names after a reboot HOWEVER, I AM ABLE TO EDIT DEVICE NAMES / CHANGE IP RESERVATIONS for the devices I manually added (unique name / specific IP address reservation) while setting up the 890L after the firmware upload.  It seems like the 890L is probably "timing out / locking out" any changes after a certain timeframe for additional / new devices that are added, but allowing initial devices to be edited.

EXAMPLE:  Upon setting up the router after the firmware upload, I manually added a 15" MacBook Pro Retina.  I gave it the following name: 15" Apple MacBook Pro Retina.  I have it the following IP address reservation: xxx.xxx.0.103.  As of now, I am able to edit both the name and IP reservation without any problems.

I've also noticed QoS doesn't allow newly detected devices to be added / saved.  It appears to "time out / lock out" any changes.

There are a few devices in my home network I want to have assigned / reserved IP addresses, and I'm hoping to "reserve" them using the 890L.  I'm planning to do a factory reset, allow the 890L to "detect" the devices connected to my home network, and try to re-assign / reserve the IP address and rename the device (instead of manually adding those devices (rename device / assign reserved IP address).

Hopefully D-Link can address this issue and work out the "kinks"  :)

Ok so checking with my Mac Mini loaded with OSX 10.10.5 and Safari v9 I'm able to place some devices in QoS priority sections and saved the setting. It rebooted and showed me the 80 sec time count down.

After the reboot I'm able to edit names. Both on Static and Reserved devices.

I hadn't added my iPhone 6P as a reserved IP so I went ahead and did that. I was successful there. After disconnecting and reconnecting, the Iphone got it's reserved IP address.

Hopefully D-Link can address this issue and work out the "kinks"  :)

I just wanted to update the status of the issue I reported above......

After discussing the above issues with Furry, it was decided that I should perform a FACTORY RESET and allow the 890L to "detect" my devices, rather than "manually" adding / editing device names / setting IP reservations.  After performing a factory reset last night, setting up the 890L using the SETUP WIZARD, and allowing the 890L to detect any / all devices connected, I'm happy to report I can edit device names AND make IP reservations without any issues.

I'm also able to edit QoS devices however, I DID HAVE TO REBOOT the 890L prior to doing so, as it initially wouldn't "save" the devices I placed in the QoS boxes.

One ISSUE I did uncover, is that when trying to manually select the WI-FI channel in 2.4GHz / Primary 5GHz / Secondary 5GHz, it reboots for 30 seconds and REVERTS back to AUTO.  This issue WAS NOT present in the previous firmware release.  I did reboot the 890L, disabled all but one radio, and still can't get the 890L to save the WI-FI channel I manually select.  Can anyone else confirm this issue?  I'd be interested in hearing back from a few 890L users regarding this issue.

Please be aware that if you are using another router as an AP (access point), this may cause problems.  I'm using the 868L as an AP, and determined the 5GHz radio on the 890L (Primary 5Ghz) and the 868L (5GHz) were using same channel (149).  I did change the WIFI channel on the 868L and rechecked the WIFI channels for all radios (890L - Primary 5GHz / Secondary 5GHz, 868L - 5GHz).  None of the 5GHz channels overlapped / were the same.

Furry has suggested I turn off the 868L for awhile and just use 890L.  Stay tuned.   :)

Yes I can confirm this as disabling SmartWiFi and setting manual channels and selecting Save. After the 30 second timeout, checking the settings again displays AUTO instead of the configured manual channels.
