Sharepoint connected HDD
« on: August 01, 2009, 07:14:23 PM »

I have an external 500gb hard drive that is self powered connected to my DIR-628.  I can access the drive with my desktop, which is connected to the router via cable.  I am running XP on the desktop and Vista on a laptop.  I can not access or even see it connected by the laptop.  I can see the desktop and another laptop on the network but can't access those.

I am not very savvy when it comes to networks.

Can anyone help me out?

Thanks

Shareport has to be setup in your firewall.  I had similar problem, once I did the setup in the firewall had no problem after doing so.  I believe the answer was found in the manual.  I assume you installed the software for shareport on the laptop?  I use ZoneAlarm for firewall.
