firmware revB 2.11 bricked my dap-1360
« on: December 09, 2011, 06:37:15 PM »

I tried to update my firmware today.

The firmware update apparently finished.

My AP rebooted and came up to original settings with the wizard.

I configured it, it rebooted and then it came up with the D-Link Access Point Recovery Mode.

Now I can't get it to flash at all.  I've tried both v2.10 and v2.11 for revB

What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under router.

my hardware is B1.  the firmware is for revB

so, after leaving it unplugged for the whole night, now the thing works.

I just don't get it.

so I tried to configure it.

It worked until it rebooted.  Then it won't authenticate my password.  I try to reset it.

Now recovery mode comes up again.

there any way you get get it back to the UI again? See if you can reload the same FW version or one prior?

once I power off, it comes back to the wizard.

I'll try flashing to 2.10

This is why I never upgrade the firmware unless there's a bug fix or feature I really have to have in the new version.  99% of the time it works fine, but when it doesn't, you're really hosed.

Can you get it RMA'd under the warranty?

OK, that's interesting.

the 2.10 firmware I downloaded is apparently not correct.

I get:
"Invalid Image! It's invalid firmware for DAP-1360."

that's dap1360_revB_FW_210.bin

My hardware says B1.

I see. How are you connecting to the DAP when updating the FW? Wired or wireless? Wired is preferred.

What region of the world are you in? NA or EU?
Was v2.10 what you had on this before you tried to update?
