I'm still having my youtube's video trouble, been reading some of your post and can see that it is related with the Arris Cable modem, I'm going to call videotron tomorrow to give them some s***s about their modem ;)

I've had the 857 since release, running 1.0.  It is one of the best routers I've owned, but needed to be rebooted periodically.  It would not behave properly with some wifi devices.

I uploaded to 1.03 via the web control panel and so far it is rock solid.  No reboots needed in a couple of days since upgrade.

Well running Kargo's 857 seems to be stable on v1.03. Aside the temp concerns, running it with external cooling has been running well for the past few days. Going to turn OFF cooling and see how it does with out. Signal is a bit week in the bed room down the hallway from the living room where the 857 sits which is about 15 feet away approx. Still was able to get internet and surf using my laptop on 2.4Ghz. This is using my saved v1.02 configuration file loaded on top of the v1.03. I played around with the HT 20/40 coexistence and turned it ON. Turn OFF SHORT GI. Will go back and put them back tonight and see if there is any differences. Other then that, been running well.

I experienced weak signal in our bedroom, too, which is about 40 feet away.

wow, thats a pretty good distance Kargo. I would say thats on the fringes of WiFi range. Most of my ranges are with in 20ft. I'll be going back to setting up WiFi defaults and going to take to cooler off line I think this evening. I've left Qos unconfigured since I'm the only one gaming and online when I game.  ;D You still playing MW3?

I should have said that the signal is going through 3 or 4 walls, too. :D

I put MW3 on the shelf since I got BO2, bro.

Ok, theres about 2 walls between the living room and the bed room however they don't go all the way across, there is a hall way.

I'm going to try and pick and and rent BO2. On of my other boddies on XBL said BO2 is kewl.

I think I was wrong about the distance.  It might be 30-35 feet.

Yeah, BO2 will allow you to choose your gun layout instead of having to unlock them (at least on Combat Training, I haven't jumped into multiplayer yet).  I wanted to familiarize myself with the maps.  It's cool, rent it and see what you think.  I'm playing the campaign right now.

Well Just uploaded the new FW1.03. My Process:

1)Using WinXP, with FF17.0.
2) Copied Config File to desktop
3) Download FW 1.03
4) Dirty Upgrade FW 1.03. Not a clean install..too lazy  ;D
5) Waited 238 secs
6) Router confirmed success install.
7) I reconfirmed install and to see FW 1.03 was installed..indeed it is ;D
8) All of my original router config. remained, even thou I have screen pics to confirm
9) Router is working like a gem.

Thus Far Iphone 5 is working well on the 5GHZ wireless. Will have to confirm XBOX on wireless and lappie as well. All wired LAN connections are rockin  ;D

Will run the router thru its paces and post as needed...that is all time for bed 8)

I used the FW update step by step process in the FAQ section and upgraded from FW1.02 to 1.03.
I have noticed a noticeable internet speed improvement and more stable connection with the new FW.

So I have been running FW1.03 for 1.5 weeks. Both wired and wireless have been stable, the wired connections have ALWAYS been rock solid on all F/W. The wireless from what I can tell, there is an improvement overall on both 2.4 & 5GHZ. The 5GHZ seems to hold a constant signal strength. Overall so far have been pleased with 1.03. Take the plunge you wont regret it.  ;D
