Title: can't log in to 1210 via web interface
Post by: charleshaine on December 05, 2012, 12:05:19 PM
So, I have my D-link SmartConsole working and it can see the switch and read it's firmware.

However, whenever I try to log in via the web interface my browser can't connect.

The SmartConsole tells me the IP address for the switch is 192.168.10.107.  This is odd since my DHCP server is only sharing IPs 192.168.1.1-255 not 192.168.10.*   I've tried logging in from various computers to 192.168.10.107 or 192.168.1.107 and and it never finds the switch.

Additionally when I login to my router to see the list of DHCP groups nothing comes up for 107 or the MAC address for the switch.

I would love to log into the switch to turn on aggregation, but it seems like I can only do so by going through the web interface, which never pops up.

Have tried Internet Explorer, Chrome, Safari, and Firefox.

Help please!

Have you set up a static IP address on a PC then try to directly connect to the 1210.
I presume that the static IP address should be in the same pool range.

All of our IPs in our office are static; helps with media sharing.

I just reset the switch to factory defaults, and the IP range is 10.90.90.90 now instead of the previous 192.168.10.107.  But I still can't log in!

Going to keep trying to log in however I can.

Spent 30 minutes on the phone with support, they weren't much help but suggested it might be a VLAN issue, but I'm not sure why we would even have a VLAN.

And I'm in!

After the manual reset, making a machine match it's IP range I was able to login.

Woo-Hoo!
