Problem DWA 547
« on: July 19, 2013, 04:06:33 AM »

Hi,

I bought a wireless card DWA-547 just a few days ago.
I installed it in my computer, but even after installing the driver from the CD or directly from the website (1.71b09 from http://www.dlink.com/fr/fr/home-solutions/connect/adapters/dwa-547-wireless-n-pci-adapter) i can't connect to my wifi.
It detect it once, at start of Windows 8, i am connected to my box for 5-10s, and then it disconnect and my box disappear from the list, and after 30s all others disappear too.
I have another PC connected by wifi with no problem ...

Thanks for your help, I tried a lot of things found on google, but nothing works :(

Wireless Configurations
Links>Wireless Installation Considerations and Managing Signal Congestion
  • What wireless modes are you using on the main host router?
  • 2.4Ghz Routers only: Try single mode G or N or mixed G and N?
  • Channel Width set for Auto 20/40Mhz or try 20Mhz only.
  • Try setting a manual Channel to a open or unused channel. 1, 6 or 11. 11 for single mode N if the channel is clear.
  • What security mode are you using? Preferred security is WPA-Personal. WPA2/AES Only. Some WiFi adapters don't support AES, so you might want to try TPIK only or Auto TPIK and AES.
  • Any other WiFi routers in the area? Link> Use InSSIDer to find out. How many?

How far way is this adapter from the main host router?

Does it connect if you turn OFF WiFi security temporarily as a test?

Only other thing to try would be to text the 547 on a different PC  with a different Windows version, with a different host WiFi signal, if the same thing happens then I would presume that the 547 is faulty and needs to be RMA or replaced.
