Title: DCS-2121 can not connect via browser.
Post by: koldtoft on February 19, 2010, 01:31:57 AM
I have a number of D-Link cameras on my network (setup via LAN and WAN) and I am using D-ViewCam to monitor and record from all of them.

However I have a new (just out of the box) DCS-2121 that will not connect via the browser. When i run the setup guide, it works perfectly, and I can connect to the camera from D-Viewcam (and see the thumbnail view in the setup process) but when I click the "ADVANCED Options" button at the end of the setup, and it points me to "http://192.168.1.56" i just get a dead link.

I have tested the camera on 2 different LAN networks, and I have tried mapping a port and connecting from a remote WAN address, but nothing helps. It is as if the web server in the camera is not running.

So the question is. What to do?

Ps. The camera cam with French firmware for some reason, and I "may" have installed new English firmware on it. I am not 100% because i have a number of DCS-2121, and I have installed English firmware on a number of them without a problem. I do not recall if I did on this one as well. However I cannot tell if I did as I cannot connect to the HTTP and change the advanced settings. I have D-viewcam recording flawlessly from the cam, the only problem is the http URL not working.
