Covr 2202 Slave randomly disconnects for no reason
« on: September 10, 2020, 12:51:25 AM »

Hello, I have a covr 2202 the slave (Covr B) Suddenly disconnects randomly for no reason whatsoever, the master cover shows the slave connected after 5 mins but the slave cover doesn't reconnect whatsoever but I can't ping the slave although the main Mikrotik router shows that the DHCP lease is bounded to the Covr Slave. nothing works except restarting the slave machine.

I tried resetting, reset to factory settings, using ethernet cable between Covr A and B, nothing works the slave always disconnects at random times once or twice a day and sometimes once or twice a month. the Covrs are using the latest firmware from D'link but nothing happens.

  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.

What is the distance between the A point and B point?
Is the COVR system running in router or Bridge(AP) mode?

the distance is about 4 to 5 meters (I tried it with ethernet backhaul also)
I tried it in both modes.

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this.
Link> Tech Support Contact Information
We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.
