Home vs Away
« on: February 18, 2020, 05:56:50 AM »

As a newbie, I have been unable to do even basic tasks in the My D-Link App. I am using an Android Notebook to view the cameras.
I have three DCS-8300LS-WM Cameras - ALL seem to be operating properly. All 3 are currently updated to firmware v1.07.00

PROBLEM #1:
I want to do two things:

1) Turn all 3 cameras OFF while I am at home so I am not eating up my WiFi Gigabytes 24/7.
2) Turn all 3 cameras ON while I am away to observe my pets & the outside yards.

I AM able to manually turn them OFF/ON by going into Setup and turning Privacy Mode ON/OFF  for each individual camera, but that is kind of a  multiple step PITA. A "Home" mode where all 3 cameras have Privacy Mode turned ON and an "Away" Mode where all 3 cameras have Privacy Mode Turned OFF would simplify my life GREATLY

Is there a document or a place with tutorials available on how to do theses simple tasks?
Is there a document available that explains what EACH of the Setup choices are used for & how to set them up properly?
I have no idea how to set up Motion Settings, what Anti-Flicker is used for, what Status LED is used for,

PROBLEM #2:
All 3 cameras automatically switch themselves back into 720p viewing mode when I close the mydlink App (Or when I run it again - I'm not sure when it actually happens). I have to then manually set each camera back into 1080p mode EVERY time I view the cameras live.

In Advance - Thanks for any help
Ron
