HDMI cable is killing my download speed
« on: December 14, 2014, 07:18:27 PM »

Hi,

I am trying to stream Netflix from my laptop (Lenovo Z750 running Windows 7) via HDMI (Monster) cable to my HD TV (1080p). The problem I am running into is that the streaming seriously degrades once I connect the HDMI cable to the TV. When I speed test without the cable I'm getting 25 Mbps. As soon as I connect it to the TV it drops to less than 3 Mbps. I've done all the usual tricks (clearing browser, unplugging/plugging in router, wireless adapter drivers updated, etc) but the speeds stay fairly consistent with/without the HDMI cable and Netflix goes into repeated buffer mode. Any suggestions?
Thanks.
