About configuring dap 2590
« on: April 23, 2014, 03:04:54 AM »

Hello! I have got a DAP 2590 and i want to configure it for use as bridge. I use the WDS with AP mode and i put the MAC of the signals which i want to amplificate in the remote access textbox, but, when i try to connect it, Windows gives me a limited o no connectivity error.

There is a screanshot of my configuration.

PRUEBA is a SSID name diferent for the network which i want to replicate, but this is because the access point must be diferenet that the original network.

Another weird thing is the ausence of enable networks in the Site Survey box when i select the WDS with AP mode and I don't undestand why happend it while, if i configure in a Wireless Client mode, a network list would appear.

I hope to get the answer from you soon. Thanks and sorry for muy bad english.

Good Bye.

Link>Welcome!

  • What Hardware version is your DAP? Look at sticker under DAP.
  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the DAPs web page under status.
  • What region are you located?

I would review the user manual for setup instructions on how to do this...

What is the main host routers Mfr and model?
What wireless modes are you using on the main host router?

I believe if you are bridging the DAP, it should use the same SSID, PW and Channel information that is on the main host router.

I read the manual and i tried to use the same SSID, PW and Chanel before send this questión, but it doesn't work, but i going to try it again.

The hardware versión is the A2, the firmware version is 1.20. I located in Spain, Europe. The main host is a Cisco Aeronet 1100 configured in AP mode. I hope that it's enought information.

Thanks.

The problem persist. I tried many configurations, same and distinct SSID names, various channels, G & N modes... but nothing, i can't solve it. I repeat that i don't understand why in wds and wds with ap mode, the list of site surve is empty, but in wireless client the network list appears.

I tried everything that i know, but nothing.

If you suggest or help me with anything, i would thank you.

Thanks for yout time.

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
