DAP2553 completely unresponsive
« on: May 07, 2012, 05:28:42 AM »

I've been running a DAP-2553 as an extra access point running in conjunction with a DI-524.  Everything has been great for 6 months, but suddenly yesterday the 2335 has become completely unresponsive.  You could connect to it wirelessly, but you could not get anywhere (no internet access).  I tried power-cycling it, but no change.  I was also unable to get to the admin components through the wired network. any attempt to connect to 192.168.0.50 fails.

I've tried connecting it directly via wire to my laptop and still could not gain access to the admin panel.

I ultimately did a 10+ second "reset" and now it is in the same state, but with the default ssid of 'dlink'.

I left it powered off overnight in hopes of a miracle this morning, but no such luck.  still cannot connect to it.

Help, what do i do now?

update:  I can connect wirelessly to the admin panel now, but I can't really do anything.  I can get to the various screens but then I get "connection interrupted" and have to disconnect and reconnect to gain access again.  I tried to quickly configure it as an access point and even tried a save and activate, but i immediately got the disconnected status and when I reconnect it is in original settings.

I would contact your local DLink support office about this. If you can get in the admin for a time, I might try to reload firmware and see if it might clear the issue. Contact support though. Let us know how it goes.
